Finance Associate/Accounting Assistant

Provide administrative and financial support to the Finance department

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for A/R and A/P
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Assume ownership of all P&L and Balance Sheet transactions
  • Filing of monthly HST tax returns
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives
  • Handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support multiple functional areas
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from management
  • Create new and maintain existing accounting policies and procedures
  • Understand and demonstrates Essendant Core Values
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Financial Controller


  • Successful completion of Bachelor of Finance degree or Diploma in Finance.
  • 2-3 years of accounting and finance experience
